Spider mite

Spider mite (Tetranichus urticae) is a dangerous, small and polyphagous pest. The mite is active as a rule on the undersides of leaves braiding them with a web. They suck out plant sap causing the deformation and the decolorization of injured leaves. The leaves assume a marble tint, become dark-brown and wither. The pest gives 8-10 genarations during the period of vegetation. They hibernate in plant residues and weeds.

How to fight the spider mite

For biological control you should use Amblyseius californicus, Phytoseiulus persimilis, Amblyseius andersoni predatory insects.

Strawberry mite or Cyclamen mite (Phytonemus pallidus)

These mites are white and 0.25 mm in length. They damage young foliage of strawberry. As a result the leaves become smaller and yellow colour, wrinkle, kink and then wither. Mites give 5 genarations during the period of vegetation.
